Something very odd has happened to my game... Not good odd, like pins just falling all by themselves, but bad odd.
For the last 6 months I've had an average of 180+, but the last couple of weeks I'm struggling to get 140. My follow thru has disappeared, my revs have dropped, my axis has gone near vertical, all in all... Big mess.
Has this happened to anyone else? It's like I hit a wall. My game suddenly went to hell in a stylish single ball tote.
I tried polishing my ball, putting some surface on it, I went to a 5 step approach, 4 step, crank, stroke, tween, and a partridge in a pear tree.
I give lessons, and all my clients have raised their average by leaps and bounds lately, but it seems for every pin they gain, I drop a pin.
Should I take a break? I've never had a bad streak like this. I've left 11 splits in the last 2 rounds (6 games), that's more than what I've left in the last 6 months combined...
Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need to just go back to basics and work your way from there up. The reason I say this is because it is usually your approach and timing that have gotten off. One of my team mates has struggled with the same thing for almost two years and I finally got him to just work on his basic delivery and timing and release. He has finally started coming out of his slump.
CklamerNormally if you hit one of these slumps you tend to try and force the shot instead of letting the ball naturally roll off your hand and do it's job so that is when the splits and all the frustration shows up.
Good luck.
